          CorrAcla Teo Community Development Project serves the parish of Achill, which comprises of Achill Island and the Curran Peninsula.  This is a distinct geographical region and community in County Mayo.

          Achill is the largest island off the Irish coast and is connected to the mainland by
          the Michael Davitt Bridge in Achill Sound. The region is 224 sq. km with a population of 2626 according to the 2006 Census.

          The driving distance from the beginning of the parish boundary near Mulranny to the western tip of the island near Keem is approx. 1.5 hours.

          • To promote positive change for those who would benefit most in the community by  promoting awareness, knowledge and uptake of a wide range of statutary,voluntary and community services.
          • Assist individuals to achieve his/her potential by increasing access to formal and informal educational, recreational and cultural activities and resources.
          • Increase the participation of persons in the community who would not normally have a say in any decision making process.
          • Promote community participation in policy, practice, and decision making processes on matters affecting local communities
          • Promote inclusion and equality in the community by developing and sustaining a range of services to support, prepare, and assist people to enter the labour market.
          • Combat loneliness, isolation, poverty and social exclusion. Assist our community in maintaining human rights
          • Respond to key concerns in our community, Domestic Violence, Substance Use /Abuse, Mental Health, Social Exclusion, Bullying, Depression, Suicide,
          • Assisting in development of local groups and guiding them to take ownership of their project.
          • Provide practical support to assist them carrying out their work.
          CorrAcla undertakes to do all of the above following the principles of Community Development Goals and Guidelines.
